All our Smart Detectors immediately notify your staff, through the Smart Life app, when vaping is detected - choose either a silent or audible alarm to suit your requirements.  The mains-powered sensors (with a battery back-up) connect to your wifi system and allow you to track the impact of your anti-vaping actions.

We can help you decide how many detectors you need and where they should be installed for maximum impact - please contact us and send floor plans, specifications (including ceiling heights) and images of your toilet cubicles.  Some schools may need only 2 to 4 detectors, whilst others (for example, enclosed cubicles with floor to ceiling doors) may require 10 to 20 for full coverage.

Once you have purchased your Vape Patrol detectors you will need to set up your system and we are always ready to help :

Step 1 -  Download the Smart Life app and create your school's account with your own buildings and rooms.

Step 2 -  Install the Vape Patrol detectors where required and connect to your network.  Each detector will be given a unique name indicating the exact location eg. "cubicle 1, boys, A block"

Step 3 - Staff responsible for supervising the toilets will download the Smart Life app and log into the school's account.

Step 4 -  When vaping is detected an alert is sent to logged-in staff who can attend the location and take action as per your own school policies.

See the instruction sheet for detailed guidance on how to set up your detectors and app.  Please check the type of wifi network you have - our smart detectors use the 2.4Ghz (the most common in schools) but if you have a 5Ghz network you will need to purchase one or two dual-band access hubs - please see the 'accessories' section.

You can choose to use detectors with built-in sounder alarms (similar to a smoke detector) or 'silent' ones - both types send alerts via the Smart Life app.  Some schools choose to use a mixture of units or move them to different locations.

As vapes and e-cigarettes are small and easy to conceal, schools may choose to use the vape detectors along with hand-held metal detectors  or 'wands'.  Please see the 'Accessories' section.
